i'm not sure how i feel about how detective pikachu looks yet

i wonder if seeing it in action might look nicer? like how pokken's models originally looked "eh" to me, but were actually really nice in action

i explained the situation and moved to a smaller table

the plan is to grab other small tables to grow it out if others start arriving

i'm here for ~2 more hours, ama

tfw you're hosting a munch, holding a large table at a place with limited seating, ordered food based on RSVPs, and nobody shows up

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz it's a really large open world RPG with a pretty elaborate story

it's battle system isn't like BoTW though--your main attacks are auto-attacks, but you can bust out special moves called "arts" that do nifty things depending on the flow of battle

that means it focuses more on strategy than something like BoTW, while having a lot of similar exploration mechanics

also, its world has some really nice vibes sometimes!

overall, i think it would last way more than 3 days of offline play

i like how realistic graphics in games are common enough that they've basically stopped being novel

it means a creator can use their tool of choice to make the game they want, and the lack of photorealism is seen as an aesthetic choice instead of a fault

it's cool how literally any media has the ability to put you into a mode where you just wanna do stuff!

finding things that you can really get into is so inconsistent though

i know it's super-hard to approach people about things like that–but saying that you're into the idea and asking for consent is probably the farthest thing from creepy!

what's creepy is when someone you've never seen before just starts saying all the things they want to do to you unsolicited–and the situations you describe aren't any of those things!

i mean, you leave space for "no", and aren't even the one who brought it up
