it occurs to me that i love pushing small tech to do things that's hard without "full" systems enough that it almost doesn't matter how inconvenient it is, so long as it's "possible"

*proceeds to install an x86_64 qemu debian vm on my phone in termux to get docker running*

my brain is super-conflicted about trying out a domestic discipline dynamic. the idea of getting regular actual spankings for real-ass things both interests and terrifies me

i already have a love/hate relationship with being spanked in general, so i wonder what this would mean for that?

i wonder what the best way to dip my toe into something like this would be?

@monorail gosh yeah. it probably doesn't help that i always assume everyone is about the same age as me for some reason (??)

@monorail i only say slash'em because i think that's the version of nethack that accepts all the funky features that got rejected from nethack (which is a super-high bar to begin with, so it's extremely kitchen-sink-esque)

but also like, I couldn't picture something like that in angband or crawl

@noiob there's a surprising amount of neat little things that a lot of softkeyboards do

i still like the whole "swiping the spacebar left or right lets you move the cursor" thing

i managed to extract someone from a really bad situation near the beginning of the year, and now i feel like we've dodged so many bullets that collectively we're basically neo at this point

i really hope that others who are trapped will be alright, since, now more than ever, they will likely be relying on others for their needs

@noiob oh yeah! i'm not even anticipating they'll be back for a while, and that's okay. i'll do my best to get used to it in the meantime (speaking of, TIL the @ syntax! though that seems absent here too)

also yep! ddg bangs are how i usually survive without keywords, but i do have a pretty substantial number that are pretty specific to me (plus bangs are slow to type on phones)

@noiob oh yeah! the new theming is pretty neat, and while it'll take me a little to get used to the new locations for some stuff, it overall seems a lot snappier

i do miss my keyword searches though; they are the main reason i started using firefox mobile in the first place

the faq does say some features are missing, and they are gonna reimplement them with each new release, so i'm glad there's acknowledgement they might come back soon!
