@noiob that's slick!
@XerTheSquirrel goodnight..! ^^
@noiob thanks! (and you too!)
i've always really liked how the toques look
@noiob i do my best!
though admittedly, i only really planned for one match--but i kinda wanted to get at least one in where we were on the same side
@noiob no prob!
too bad we haven't ended up on the same team yet
@noiob hahah, sorry!
I saw you once and that was basically it
@noiob hi!
@noiob they're kinda hard to explain
i can join one of your matches for a game if you wanna see what it looks like! (no guarantees i'll end up on your side though)
@noiob kinda! they usually take more than one hit to splat an opponent, but they have similar range and spread
the cool part about them is that you can hold down fire and the umbrella part expands into a shield that can take an unreasonable amount of damage
and if you keep it open for long enough, the umbrella part will fire off, and you can follow it as a shield that inks along the way
also, you can shoot and walk through it, but opponents can't
@noiob one of my favorites are the brellas
they lend themselves really well to close quarters, and are just fun to use in general
@noiob even if you do, there are lots of other types of dualies too!
actually, a lot of the most solid weapons in the entire game are dualies
@noiob yeah! i actually like the idea a lot!
it means you don't need to trap yourself with a single loadout if you wanted to play around with other things
@noiob it's a per-weapon ranking that grows based on how well you've been doing with it
it's used in matchmaking to pair you with others at the same level
being per-weapon means that you can safely try out new weapons without having to face your usual level of competition right off the bat!
@noiob oh yeah! you can do some real nifty things with those
(also, i guess i should mention that i don't mean you should retreat from everything--but keep it in mind if you see unwinnable situations! sometimes those can reverse if you can survive!)
@noiob hee, that's fair!
i mentioned it because retreating is actually significantly easier than 1v1ing peeps, and it often ends up being really good for your overall games
@noiob one general non-obvious tip that can turn things around a lot is that surviving is much higher priority than accomplishing most goals
don't be afraid to retreat
if you go down, it becomes 4 against 3 until you can get back, and that can shift things pretty drastically
@noiob oh nooo
@noiob oof
i had this problem for a while, and i discovered that a LAN adapter basically solved it (this is the only one the switch supports: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Internet-Officially-Licensed-wii-u/dp/B01N6S068R)
my wifi is pretty reliable, but there was just something about it that would cause all kinds of online grief in splatoon
call for help from anyone who understands how the webpack stuff Masto uses works
@noiob yays!
call for help from anyone who understands how the webpack stuff Masto uses works
@noiob ahh!
i was actually gonna say that i noticed that there are two common css files loaded on every page--one for glitch and one for vanilla, and i figured that the components scss file got compiled into one eventually
oh hi! i do computers, and sometimes draw stuff~ i like lo-fi things and cute aesthetics!
