@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz oh! if that's why you like it, i found podcasts were actually *extremely* good at this

i slept on them for a looong time, but i found that, since they take more attention than music, and don't fade into the background while you're doing things, you can basically forget you're doing chores while listening to them

it's pretty much the only way i do them now, and sometimes i actually proactively do chores because i wanna listen to a podcast to find out what happens

@nolan fair enough~

i double-took because i didn't even realize you could do that, and was curious if there was a reason i should try doing that, since it wasn't immediately apparent hahah

but yeah! habits and aesthetics are important too! that's neat

@nolan i noticed this a few minutes ago and now i'm kinda curious!

you pull-request to yourself in your projects..?

@noiob i kinda figured that a lot of it was update maintenance, so i guess it's not super surprising that a major version would take a lot of extra effort :T

i know i already said this but, for reals, good luck! i really appreciate all the effort you put into this..! (seriously, thank you!) ^^

@noiob ah! i remember them mentioning custom code when i first joined, but i didn't know that was one of the things they made

that's neat

@noiob i didn't even realize the allowlist was custom, huh!

@noiob oh! good luck!!

i noticed the new repo a while ago, but i thought that was just basically a rename--i didn't realize you were going in deep

brain stuff (+++)

i had a doctor's appointment today to ask about the sort of things i could do about the extreme measures i need to take to get over my inertia and actually *do* anything productive, because it turns out that's not typical at all

so, he gave me a trial of an adhd medication to take this morning, and now that it's the end of the day i can conclusively say: holy shit

i didn't feel even a *little* bad about starting to do things! is this what it's like to have normal motivation??

pokemon sword and shield info, but also very very cute

THAT CRY, AAAAAAAAAA

everything about this video is extremely important hjkl;jkadsfl;'

i'm gonna have to do better than this if i wanna have any chance of scaring anyone this year :ms_unamused:

@pinafore@mastodon.technology before pinafore supported notifications, i used to set up push notifications from the official pwa and use pinafore to actually interact with them

now i just kinda use it across the board

@pinafore@mastodon.technology oh, i'm on android~

i really appreciate pwas because they have extremely low overhead and can still send push notifications, so unlike apps in general, i've never really been tempted to get rid of it

plus, i think pinafore's interface is significantly nicer than the official mastodon pwa, and still supports streaming new posts in--a thing i like lots that i kinda miss from a lot of clients

@pinafore@mastodon.technology this is actually how i use it

it's really nice!

i'm gonna have to do better than this if i wanna have any chance of scaring anyone this year :ms_unamused:

more people should have a pokemon as their primary sonas tbh

@monorail but the real reason i like roomfuls of pokemon is that all pokemon are very Very good, and i'd cuddle them all

@monorail another fun one is making themed stuff based on things that exist in the games

like, The Name Rater, is now a bot that exists which lets anyone change anyone's name on a discord...which of course is never used to bully or anything :ms_eyes:

and for definitely-unrelated reasons, it got renamed not long after its introduction
