@green like I announced we're migrating into s3 served data! I may have to revisit this if this doesn't work out well but it seems ok and is slowly getting better as time goes on

it's fantastic that tons of people know how to use technology and build stuff

but not everyone should be required to in order to make use of self-hosted services. look at wordpress! it's actually pretty great for that, all things considered

good software intended for broad use should strive to simplify the necessary knowledge for hosting the software as much as possible imo

otherwise it's not intended for broad use, only for technical use
