i used this against my players (without min-maxing it because it will outright kill anyone even at level 10) and they were SO MAD but I had to do it because the player would have completely devastated the encounter without even trying :S
@witchfynder_finder speaking of familiars i figured out an absurdly broken magus build involving getting a familiar and abusing invisibility mechanics
assuming level 20, put maximized electric shock on your familiar and yourself, then while holding the charge use invisibility on both of you and invisibility attack someone for 480 points of damage, not including any damage bonuses from other min-max mechanics of the basic shocking grasp build
