@amphetamine@social.wxcafe.net @Trev@icosahedron.website i don't know anyone who can javascript tbh

it's feels like extraordinarily complex lego pieces that fit together in weird ways all over the place

tech whine

me: hey $SERVICE1 i want $SERVICE2 to own our concept of business departments
them: what????
me: hey yeah where's your API
them: no you don't get API
me: ???
them: here's an integration service
me: oh cool I - wait this just reads SFTP
them: yeah
me: and I don't get to control the schedule
them: yeah
me: and it uses a proprietary format with excel docs
them: mhmm
me: and it calls departments "cost centers"
them: clever isn't it
me: can i have api access
them: no that's insecure
me: ???

On crowdfunding & whinging about cash

@OsirisSaline hell yea

i just wish it was easier for you and other folks to make a better living off this stuff, it always feels like it's impossible even with plenty of "market reach" until you become a big name like you said

that's definitely why i've stopped supporting people who have really huge patreon $s any more.... i want my money to go to someone who's not able to land Really Good Deals and actually needs the income I can give them

On crowdfunding & whinging about cash

@OsirisSaline also reminds me i need to get in the habit of yelling publicly about who i support again!!!

On crowdfunding & whinging about cash

@OsirisSaline i'm sorry about the patreopocalypse. drip can't come fast enough.

@Reynart i get the same way

it's why i don't post on the public timeline any more haha

gentle reminder: compassion is a snake girlfriend for you

Hej!

I put up a goal on my Ko-fi page, because I want to be able to afford a tablet monitor.

So if you like my art and want to help me out a little please consider buying me a coffee: ko-fi.com/emeliepng

Creativity & STEM Discourse Stuff

@flitterbatflutterbat@mastodon.social leadership at my company has explicitly talked about us being a meritocracy before and I slapped my face when it happened

I have no idea how to unwork it v_v

Tabletop talky, size mechanics

The cool consequence of this though is you get to actually pick what size you are! You typically get a choice of two sequential categories.

Humans and similar are 6, 7.
Gnomes and similar are 4, 5.
Orcs and similar are 7, 8.

I'm torn on dwarves being 5, 6 or 6, 7. Leaning towards the latter since size isn't necessarily a measurement of height.

Tabletop talky, size mechanics

Let's talk size!

Size ranges from 1 to 12. Being bigger grants advantage for every two points difference and being bigger means it's harder to hit but you deal extra damage when you do, but you're easier to hit as well.

I need to figure out how to balance this because it doesn't feel right quite right yet but this is the general feel I'm going for.
