I saw their earnest radiance,
Their certainty so free.
Wished so hard to join their dance,
Until my change I began to see.
I thought I was just becoming "me."
That's what I'd hoped at least.
But now it seems quite clear to me,
I was just becoming beast.
empathy
It can be simultaneously painful and rewarding to empathize and care for others.
It is a good pain, though, ultimately.
