Dammit Rick and Morty is still extremely well plotted and scripted and it's every bit as buttheadedly male powertrip centric as it was before.

I think I'm gonna keep watching it but I'm gonna hate myself a little and this is probably the last you'll hear about the show here for a long, long time.

Wish we had enough time to make fun of R&M in the comic but we just don't. I guess having a female lead who's not a trophy/comic foil is rebuttal enough. -_-

As per previous boost, yeah, I went to bed around 2 am, figuring Umbra had proven himself more than capable of being a good guest.

And then the pitiful mewling began. And then the sounds of things being knocked around in the front room.

We caved and let him sleep with us in the bedroom. He was an absolute sweetie. And I even woke up with clear sinuses. It's a Catsmas miracle.

Peeking over at Umbra like every five minutes to make sure they're still breathing and stuff, despite Umbra having absolutely no signs of any health issues.

I'm so fucking grateful I never had children. I am far, far too prone to fretting over whoever I care about, especially if they're eensy and vulnerable.

I was like this when my nieces and nephews were babies, too. Absolute. Ongoing. Terror. (They're all fine and, like, in college and stuff.)

If it weren't for the fear of losing track of him and, you know, basic health regulations and stuff... I would be so tempted to call an Uber and go to, like, Waffle House or IHOP with the kitten and just pull my all-nighter there with him on my lap. ^__^

(I'd joke "HE'S MY SERVICE ANIMAL" but faking that shit isn't really funny since real people need... um... animals other than cats. Cats are adorably useless for anything except affection & smallscale murder.)

Yup, this is gonna be a rough night. Only an hour in and my allergies are already raging. Still don't have the heart to leave the cute little bugger alone all night. Umbra's been a real good kid so far, aside from stuffing my lungs with dander.

@hystericempress What really annoys me is that one of their rants about postfurry was about how ungrounded WE supposedly were in reality... and turning out that it basically just because it didn't hew with THEIR game rules of "my plurals are really really really really really truly real and conveniently justify whatever havoc I want to do sow with them" is just such a goddamn disappointment. I had such a good self-loathing worked up for absolutely nothing. >_~
