@packbat More than once, I've said, "My code works now and I'm so angry." How are ya s'posed to troubleshoot code that works? :)
Transphobia
@Owlor "I may not know why this software crashes on launch a fifth of the time or why our error logs keep filling up with the letter 'K' or even what a 'type mismatch' is, but I know that there are $0002 genders and you can tell them apart by one of a string of digits the government picked for them years ago!" *types confidently, not even forgetting the semicolon this time*
Since we were thinking about hardware demands, we went ahead and published our manifesto on the subject, "why isn't this a doom 2 mod": https://packbat.itch.io/why-isnt-this-a-doom-2-mod
full text is on the page, but there is a plaintext file and an audiobook-style mp3 reading of it available as downloads

Watching Infinity Train could help you resolve ethical dilemmas like "is it moral to pirate an edifying and culturally enriching show that would otherwise be unavailable to you?"
The worldwide report for the 2022 Gender Census is now published: https://www.gendercensus.com/results/2022-worldwide/
It's about language preferences about genders beyond the binary.
You can also read a summary of the big three questions (identities, titles and pronouns) here: https://www.gendercensus.com/results/2022-worldwide-summary/
Past medication fuckery.
@packbat There was the time my spouse dropped off a new prescription for estradiol. Given its tendency to thicken the blood, their doctor also had them taking aspirin as a blood thinner. Trouble is... the pharmacist read the estradiol scribble as warfarin, itself a strong blood thinner. Cue weeks of increasing irritability from hormone withdrawal... and slowly increasing issues with lightheadedness and random bruising. It was that last that really got our attention, so we sorted things out and no crisis came of it. As a bonus, once we went to correct the issue, we got to see a pharmacist turn ghost-sighting pale!
@packbat That is a chilling read... in part because none of it surprises me anymore.
Bullying, school shootings, Columbine, pre coffee rambling
you ever sit down and think about how schools overcorrected on the bullying thing so hard without actually teaching kids not to be assholes or how to be accountable and instead just implement across the board zero tolerance policies that equally punishes everyone involved regardless of which side of the conflict they were on so instead what's coming out is a generation of people who don't understand the difference between bullying and a community self policing dangerous people out of the crowd (notably the Columbine shooters who the adults tried really hard to present as innocent loser babies when actually in the past decade we've been finding out they were actually the bullies and people were terrified of them), and also helped to foster the sense of violent entitlement of bullies and ultimately school shooters

#drawings today, a paladin on a hippogryph challenges a devil, and two monsters, a tanuki and a doppelgänger (I really want a playable tanuki in games!).
@g1comics I'd name it "Hamburgefonstiv".
@g1comics I keep seeing that Lua's Unicode support is kinda terrible, but the pandoc documentation also seems to consider the Python and Haskell filters to be the worse options for many other reasons, so... *shrug* I think they've undervalued UTF-8 support. :)
