Broke: writing an article about furries in a way that is centred around the apparently *bemusing* concept that some furries do the S E X (y’know… like a lot of adult humans do)
Bespoke: whatever the f🦆ck happened here in the replies
PSA, art, talking to myself but maybe you need to hear it too?
Art doesn't need to be good. Or unique. Or special. It's ok to do art that has been done before. Your art, whatever medium, doesn't need to earn its right to exist. It is an expression of your breath and life and like you, its right to exist cannot be taken away.
re: speculative ADHD acronym change
@LexYeen Also known as, "I have four projects open on my computer and I want to keep working on each but I can't get my hands to move to finish any of them and I have to close at least one so I can open Steam and spend a half hour browsing my collection without settling on a game to play. Also, I will get a second wind that latches me onto one of those projects and drags me into the wee hours of tomorrow morning, then spend most of that day haphazardly starting a fifth project while forgetting to do laundry."
Of any four words that could summarize this, I think yours are the best yet.
@fluffy Happy birthday anyhow. :)
@Owlor Ah, so it's like ADHD memory for everyone else!
James Cameron on why T-1000 was a cop
From a 2010 book “The Futurist: The Life and Films of James Cameron” by Rebecca Keegan:
'"The Terminator films are not really about the human race getting killed of by future machines. They’re about us losing touch with our own humanity and becoming machines, which allows us to kill and brutalize each other,” he says. “Cops think all non-cops as less than they are, stupid, weak, and evil. They dehumanize the people they are sworn to protect and desensitize themselves in order to do that job.”'

videosgame, patriarchy
This is your occasional reminder that capitalism doesn't even do capitalism right, much less anything else.
Capitalism is not a meritocracy, it is not the most efficient system - not even for capitalism's own stated goals. It just isn't. It's steered in powerful people's (usually men's) ideas on how markets *should* work, and those people have enough pre-existing sway to mold things to their existing biases.
videosgame, patriarchy
Just thinking, as one does, about how in the 80s video games were enjoyed in about equal numbers by kids/teenagers of any gender. Then marketing experts and executives arbitrarily decided that's not how it *should* work and pushed HARD for a "games are for boys" narrative, forcing it to be real, potential profits be damned.
And in the 90s and onwards, they largely succeeded, doesn't matter titles like (for instance) the Sims show women are a gold mine of a demographic.
@Owlor The sight of this will haunt me, no matter how nice the score.
@xinjinmeng Truth is, I'm ill-equipped for both of those. I'll have to be some other sort of professional. Is there some form of certification for being a unicorn? Heck, is there a union I should be paying dues to?
@xinjinmeng You know the quote. "When the going gets rough, the weird turn pro." We have so many years of experience!
