QWRPLINE presents the Nsburg Defnders Pntad! (City of Heroes, Loading Ready Run)
Derek: Tanker (somehow survives despite his best efforts)
Richter: Blaster (overconfident and oblivious to team panic)
Edith: Controller (oddly grounding and sleep counts as a mez okay)
Alex: Scrapper (tends to escalate by clawing at everything)
Graham: Defender (desperately failing to keep it all together)
Masks keep dropping. (covid, shouting but not caps))
Over half the folks I see with masks leave them gaping open at the top such that the nose doesn't even come in contact with the the mask. This isn't wearing a mask, it's dangling a fashion accessory and pretending to technically meet the rules. It's intentionally conspicuous neglect.
There was one of these in an enclosed area Orrery and I also had to sit in.
I asked him to put it on correctly and he tugged it up to appear to cover his nose then looked away... and it dropped back down to below. So I asked him again. He did the same thing again.
Orrery told him to pull it up. He said he'd been vaccinated, so why did we care? (The CDC recommends folks still wear masks in public after vaccination.)
That's when somebody-definitely-not-me had had enough. They walked up to the guy, stood with their mouth a foot from the dude's ear, and screamed at near top volume, "Put. On. Your. Mask!" Not the best move, and it might technically count as assault, but I know I'd call it defense of self and others. Still, not the greatest.
To his credit, he didn't really flinch... but at least he left the room. I'm sure they stubbornly refused to learn anything from it, though, and I'm sure that somebody-definitely-not-me is somewhat uncomfortable with having snapped like that.
But still, that must have been very, very cathartic for them.
If you have a cellphone seized by a law enforcement agency or other TLA, chances are they'll use Cellbrite's wares to sift through your data.
Here, Signal analyses Cellebrite's software's own security. Want to guess how good it is? =:)

Oh ghod who led him near the karaoke
Masked it up, backed up six feet
Double-gloved, took no chances
Went thru lockdown, hard to buy groceries
Just a man and his bills to survive
So many waves, stats rising too fast
ICU getting too gory
Self-isolate, 'till you get to that date
Your reward is a small plastic vial
It's the...
Vial of the Pfizer
I don't 'bout the cost
At this point, it's unwise to be a miser
At your first free appointment
Swipe my delt with a swab
And start shooting me up with a viiiiiaaaal....
of the Pfizer
TIL that the etymology for "alcohol" originally derives from the Arabic "kohl", as in eyeliner:

All I want is a digital melodica.
Ever since I borrowed (then kept) my father's acoustic melodica – as seen at https://en.audiofanzine.com/melodica/hohner/melodica-soprano-9451/ – I've wanted something similar but not-so-acoustic so I can plug in headphones in and casually play without anyone else having to hear. Most melodicas use a mouthpiece on a connecting tube for breath control, but I think I'd prefer the tube so I can play like any other digital keyboard.
So far, everything I can find is:
* woodwind-style keys (or something even less understandable);
* an expensive device to plug into an expensive MIDI device that understands breath control (huge pro-level synths, obscure keytars found only in Japan, or a PC which significantly reduces the pick-up-and-play factor);
* plans for how to assemble one, something I definitely don't have the skill for.
Oh, and a lot of folks saying they want the same thing, all bewildered that nobody seems to make the damn things. *grumble*

The NES game I'm working on is having a public beta test. Maybe you'd like to try out a demo of a new NES game?
It's called Alwa's Awakening.
It's called the demoscene, Mom, and it's art!
(actual headline: Demoscene accepted as UNESCO cultural heritage in Germany)
