I really love how in Kerbal Space Program, "get out and push" is a valid strategy if your spacecraft runs out of fuel.

It's not a *great* strategy, but on very rare occasions it can save a mission.

appropriation and redistribution includes backwards-engineering and large-scale replication of any and all technologies necessary to bring down the structures attempting to bring about a private, members-only, wealth- or class- or race-based Singularity.

h+'s also have the solemn responsibility to recognize the rights of humans who choose not to undergo h+ augmentation. no class divisions, no creation of subspecies or superspecies.

any Singularity that is unevenly distributed is not the True Singularity.

if post-Singularity benefits are not applied equally to all humans aware and interested of its benefits across boundaries of nation, economy, race, class, belief, background, ability, society and gender; it is a False Singularity and must be rejected.

all h+'s have a responsibility to appropriate and redistribute any and all resources of a False Singularity with the aims of creating a True one.

Rant about GUI-based computing.

A current example:

I use a 3840×2160 LCD monitor, but just because I have all those pixels doesn't mean I can fill them all at the frame rate I want, so I set a mode of 1920×2160 hoping for a pixel aspect ratio (PAR) of 2; each pixel is twice as wide as high.

Does the much-touted scalable "Modern" Win10 interface adapt? Of course not! It simply renders as though the pixels were square, and I can't see any to fix it. *sighs*

Rant about GUI-based computing.

Back in 1992ish, only some of the mediocre-to-lousy PC's my high school ran Windows 3.1. I discovered that a screen resolution of 640×200 was available, and then I marvelled at how much of a monkeywrench running at a non-square aspect ratio could be. Some things adapted properly, some were consistently stretched out, some were a mishmash of half-visible text and inaccessible buttons.

It's 2017, and in two and a half decades, things are somehow _worse._

Dreamstuff! (This is not a warning, just a convenient summary.)

I dreamt that my beloved buni, @literorrery, underwent a procedure to transfer her mind into some sort of futuristic self-driving vehicle. Despite having passenger space, I have no idea what her interior looked like, but she seemed impressed with herself.

That was brief, however. After that, she transferred to some sort of four-metre-tall alien bug thing which was stupefyingly cute, at least to me. We cuddled!

Social media interferometry: taking vague or oblique posts by two or more different connected people and using the wave pattern produced between them to try and figure out what probably just happened.

not a response to anything going on right now, just a cute phrase I came up with a while ago :)

Increased character limit is Mastodon's least important feature, albeit a nice perk

Mastodon's primary strength are the decentralization (resilience to failures, government censorship, distributed nature of the moderation and ability to own your own megaphone) and the power dynamic between the product and the users. It is free and open source, and does not seek to exploit the user through ads or surveillance; it is, rather, made by the users for the users.

"Hunh. I've been seeing a lot more of several of my kinks showing up in porn lately."

"Really? Suppose there's a reason for the sudden trend?"

"Yeah. I learned how to use keyword search."

This morning, I woke up with a head full of ugly, so I self-medicated.

After half a bowl of Lodi Dodi (SPP), the ugly is still there, but at least it's not drowning out all other attempts at cogent thought.

Whaddya know. Bong hits helped.

Mind rending knowledge is a silly concept to me. The eldritch causing one to question the nature of reality seems laughable. I *already* question reality constantly, and I *already* have mental health issues related to the *mundane*, the nature of humanity is far more unhinging than the idea of a universe full of monsters who care not for our existence.

The worst part by far is my foot size. By any estimation on the US women's scale, I'm somewhere around 15~17 (men's 13½~14½) and 3W~5W? (men's 3E~4E).

I have a hard time finding anything that actually fits other than sportsy Axe-effect shoes (not really desired) or blocky-soled loafers – and even those are rare.

For the curious:

I stand at 190cm (around 6'2½"). I weigh around 127kg (280lb). My shape is that of a slightly odd masculine frame with around thirteenish years of girly hormones to make up for twenty-six years without.

Jeans, I can sort of find in almost the right proportions sometimes. Basically everything else is simply made wrong, and more so the more "gendered" it is.

I seriously want to add flexibility to my wardrobe, but I know I'm going to have to spend painfully for custom work due to not just my build in general but especially my foot size.

This mound of anxiety is built up around going to a tailor because I haven't before, and double that for a genuine shoemaker!

It's not that I don't love my body. It's that it's so annoying and/or expensive to clothe!
