also i would just like to make a controversial statement:
bowsette is fine but if it's all "we've inexplicably made this strong, muscular character have pure lily white skin and legs with all the definition of hot dogs when femme'd, despite the original character being a downright bara icon of STRANTH", you a coward with shit taste
if bowsette can't crush heads with her thighs and take you to the gun show, It Ain't Right
hot take about speedrunning
@Kyresti @tastymochafox honestly, yeah. it's full of pretty problematic people who keep getting passes, and a whole lot of nothing until it suddenly gets really good.
gdq, transphobia, -
Cool gdq invited back a huge transphobe who stalks& harasses trans men for fun & we absolutely told them about but its fine bc she changed her handle and does free art for them!!!
Gross
Last year they invited a fucking nazi and everyone shouted it down but im pretty sure that the few transmasc voices are going to go unheard again.
I'm teaching summer school for high schoolers and their sex ed curriculum is decidedly lacking in queer/gender topics. (as-in, there's none. Nada. Zilch. Zero).
I'm aiming to fix that.
Please help me best teach the babies what we weren't taught by filling out this survey. :)
Please boost!

social justice terminology, pollution metaphor (violence mention)
Watched the Renegade Cut video on toxic masculinity and anti-hierarchism earlier - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_O7w5W7rZg - and while I was mulling it over I came up with a metaphor:
The "toxic" in "toxic masculinity" is like the "leaded" in "leaded gasoline". Something was added to the system to produce a profitable effect for those in power, and that thing is poison, and we need to change what we do so we can get rid of it.
(In the case of leaded gasoline, that was "sell more powerful/economical cars that depend on its anti-knock properties" and in the case of toxic masculinity, that was "maintain a hierarchy full of people willing to do the violence necessary to perpetuate it", but in both cases, the profits go to the powerful.)
Elon Musk ice-cold take, The Loop(tm)(c)(r)(llc)(inc)(muskright), seriously this is liquid hydrogen levels of cold
So, one problem with The Loop is tire wear. Ya know, running regular car tires at high-speeds n' stuff, wears 'em out. One way you could fix this is use little moving platforms to ferry the cars. Like each car has its own car to move it around. But those tires'll wear out, too.
Maybe you could make their tires out of something that doesn't wear so easily. Like metal. Then the guidance aspect can take care of itself, cuz you can run the metal on metal and it's super-sturdy and stable.
Now powering and merging these little car-cars would be tricky. You'd have to keep swapping the car-cars and recharge batteries. But, like, you could have them share charge by hooking ones going to the same place all up together. Heck, just make a lead or trailing car-car that has a power-pack instead of a car. Or maybe deliver power through some kind of third rail system.
Getting on and off the system's still an issue. But since we're already using car-cars, why not just nix the inner car and build a sort of cabin that never leaves the Loop? Then people can park their cars, go into the Loop via pedestrian means, and get to where they're going quickly, efficiently, and
Oh this is a subway.
