Those for whom English is not your first language: How easily did /θ/ (as in "thanks" or "breath") and /ð/ (as in "there" or "breathe"), the two sounds represented by ⟨th⟩ in English, come to you?
These are sounds that are cross-linguistically rare; only three or four major languages (and a handful of minor languages) have them, so I'm curious how easy or hard it is for language learners to acquire them

@NovaSquirrel yeah, just don't get a memory foam (or other foam) mattress then. it'll "memorize" the shape of you sitting on it and end up less comfortable to sleep on
-F
@NovaSquirrel it kinda doesn't, yeah
the one thing i'll say is that you should avoid foam mattresses if you sit on the bed a lot (rather than just sleeping on it)
-F
@NovaSquirrel actually one time when we needed a mattress, we asked about one and they offered to have it on a bed to try if we came back the next day iwrc (we didn't, because they also said "this one is very close to the same" and we tried that one instead)
-F
@NovaSquirrel Mattress stores usually have beds set up that you can lay down on a mattress (they spray sanitizer on it after) and see how it feels. not always for every mattress they offer, but a lot of them

@Lobst (though of course use it if you want! i just want to have it out there that it does prevent some people from viewing who might want to)
-F
@Lobst we're not a big fan of the verified accounts only thing, it requires you to give them your phone number and we don't want to
-F
@socks as long as it's powered down while being moved there's no problem
-F
@socks they're electrically very durable, much better than ssds
but mechanically pretty poor, not ideal for being moved around much

@NovaSquirrel thinking about the great rpgs we've played, and most of the ones that come to mind to recommend are actually on psx
though on snes i would recommend terranigma, earthbound, super mario rpg, and final fantasies 4 and 6 (2 and 3), not necessarily in that order
-F
@NovaSquirrel the snes had a lot of good rpgs! you're starting on a high point with chrono trigger too, though, so don't expect them all to be as good (but there *are* equally good or better ones out there)

re: unsolicited food advice re: Mild foodporn
@Kyresti Perfectly fine! And yeah, it's about the same price point as real parmesan
-F
unsolicited food advice re: Mild foodporn
@Kyresti If you've never had it, pecorino romano cheese would be *great* with that flavor profile. it's a really unique cheese (made from sheep's milk!), not at all like the stuff you get that's just labelled "romano" (which is a much cheaper cheese that people gave a prestigious name to make it sell better)
...we just got some recently and have been putting it on lots of stuff, so it's on the brain right now. it's a nice treat once in a while (noooot a cheap cheese, so we don't buy it very often)
-F
@typhlosion also, if you like Tales games there's a port of Tales of the Abyss
-F
@typhlosion radiant historia perfect chronology comes to mind as one that's worth a play that most people might not think of
-F
@sharkNserg Connie, listen, you're wonderful
