we put some laundry in just now before heading to work and i'm quite certain we're going to have forgotten about it by the time we get back so can someone remind us in like eight hours to move the laundry to the dryer

watching the gdq run of wild arms, learned that apparently the game was commissioned by Sony to show off the PS1's 3D graphics...

but it's a game with beautiful 2D overworld stuff and kinda ugly 3D battle graphics

i like it when a mistranslation makes something sound *more* awesome

like in wild arms where super-powerful artificial humanoids in the backstory are supposed to be called homunculi but they mistranslated homunculus as Holmcross

we wired up an e-stop switch and heavy-duty contactor today so now we can actually use the 2 kV/2 A power supply with slightly more safety (it's still horrendously dangerous though) (you need to respect something capable of continuously dumping 4 kW into a load)

you know what would be pretty neat

not just zelda games where you play as zelda, but is there really any reason that the one with the triforce of power has to be the bad guy? what if we get a good ganondorf teaming up with zelda to fight an evil link, or link and ganondorf against a corrupt zelda

(okay a corrupt zelda would be a little less fitting with the game's overall story)
