we ought to play XIII sometime too, I know it's not very good from a game design standpoint but its story is really intriguing

is final fantasy xv any good, anyway? I don't remember any particular excitement or disappointment when it came out

realizing that we have a computer that could play it if it has a pc release and kinda thinking about trying it

our favorites of the series are VI and IX and I know it's pretty distant from that style but eh, we still enjoyed VII and X so

We know a lot of british english due to hearing/reading it quite frequently (quite a few of our closest friends live in the UK) but every now and then a word just really throws me off. this time it was "pram", which I guess makes sense as we don't have much reason to talk about that object very often

@metro@snouts.online Aaa. I saw your refsheet and you're extremely cute.

today we learned: the "do re mi" syllables are not, in fact, a weird solely-didactic thing, but actually the names of the notes in basically every romance language

and that this is incredibly confusing to people who learn music in a romance language because in those settings "do" always means "C", but in english it just means the tonic of whatever key you're in

being indecisive and slow to make on the spot decisions is really frustrating sometimes >.<

I am still amused by the fact that the Czochralsky process was invented by mistake when Jan Czochralsky dipped his pen in a pot of molten tin instead of an inkwell and pulled out a single crystal of tin

Character design thoughts

@Felthry has a character named Aditi, and I had some thoughts on an outline for his brother. I'd love to see it expand this into a full character, if it wants to!

Name undecided -- Darius?

Aditi's older brother
Transmasculine nonbinary, he/him pronouns and masc presentation
Doesn't bind; actually likes his bust
Taur
Moderately well off, but not rich
Occupation-- Woodworker? Probably has a machine shop
Interested in spellcraft, but as a hobby not a career
Estranged from most of the family, but very close with Aditi
The Cool Uncle kind of guy--are there any kids he's a Cool Uncle to?

re: Character design thoughts (long) (Extra tidbits)

Still feeling proud of this and wanting to show it off. -w- Rosemary had some thoughts on Aditi's brother too, let me find and boost that too

Character design thoughts (long) (Extra tidbits)

Aditi owns and operates a bakery in the closest thing his small college town has to a downtown, and lives in an apartment above it.

She's very close with his older brother, a tauric transmasculine demiboy.

The best way to describe her mental situation is one consciousness spanning two minds. She can have two completely separate trains of thought at once, or devote his full attention to each of two different things at once. Another person(s) with exactly the same setup could well have developed into two distinct individuals with a very strong mental link; Aditi just didn't.

Though he has two names, and responds equally well to either, he prefers Aditi in general.

out of curiosity though, if anyone here knows, what is considered the "gold standard" among cheap synthesizers

Show thread

i kind of want to get a little synthesizer keyboard thingy even though I know we'd almost never use it

I guess having incoming tax refund money makes us think about things that would be neat to have

Oceans existed before they were named. Why must your gender be any different?

Be as free as the breeze, and as relentless as the sea.

Labels come later, if you wish it.

#nonbinary #nonbinarypositivity #nonbinarypride #lgbtq ..

nsfw but not really, weird

Today I am thinking about the always-headless look and finding it extremely hot

I want to get a picture of me carrying my head under one arm. It's a good pose I think

antepenultimate is an underrated and underused word

Sappho of Lesbos: so gay she got lesbianism named after her _twice_

politics of a famous musician

apparently Igor Stravinsky was extremely leftist in his youth, got _extremely_ fascist after the october revolution and basically venerated mussolini, and then moved to america and became a leftist moderate in the 1940s

I don't know what to think of his music in light of that
