In my case there was a schism in a local furry group and there was one particular asshole who insisted on calling a transmasculine member on the other side of it a bitch with a particular emphasis on the implied gender of the insult. Just glad that another trans member who is actually 'out' on the local level stepped in so I wouldn't feel pressured to speak out myself, since I'm a non-confrontational coward that way.
