@porsupah @Oasus@snouts.online PPS: Marcy has an interesting take on what might be going on here: https://www.emptywheel.net/2018/11/26/manafort-tests-the-theory-of-an-unpardonable-plea/

@porsupah @Oasus@snouts.online I guess this substantively doesn’t add much other than agreement, so I guess it’s better to wait and see. And, also agreed that it’s a really strange position.
Politics, US Pol
@porsupah @Oasus@snouts.online On the other hand (deleting the longer version), people smarter than I am on this are also saying it could indeed be inherent (as above, and supported by attorneys like Ken White) or completely unrelated to Manafort’s intent at cooperation.
I guess it’s important to remember that it doesn’t need to be just one of these things. I think we’ll find out more closer to sentencing.
Politics, US Pol
@porsupah @Oasus@snouts.online This may be a cynical read, but for him to not be cooperating at this stage — when he is looking at the rest of his life in jail and already incarcerated — indicates he’s thinking more about threats to his life and his family than the possibility of life in prison.
Which means whatever he knows may be damning enough to powerful people that it’s a logical play.

re: -, working through a mood crash because of the holiday
@zetasyanthis Thank you, fren. 💖
-, working through a mood crash because of the holiday
In short: ramble ramble, flail, flop, I wish I knew how to holiday anymore.
-, working through a mood crash because of the holiday
I did do a bit of social gaming, which was very good for me during the holiday proper. My mood crashed when I came up for air from that, and that... isn’t something I’m used to.
I’ll also assuredly be okay. But I... think I should be doing more than mood stabilization and self-care? I’m not sure.
I just wish I knew what to do other than feel kind of adrift and appreciative at a distance, while continuing to self-isolate from old anxiety.
-, working through a mood crash because of the holiday
My holidays with friends were the best I ever had, and I miss them so very, very much right now.
I’ll be doing a small thanksfeasting thing tomorrow with my roommate’s friends and family, and that will be good, I think.
I’m putting this here, mostly, because I want to figure this out. I miss my once-friends, I miss my once-community, and I don’t know how to work through any of the complexity that caused me to isolate in the first place.
I added some heirloom apples, cookies, and D&D spells to the dataset of pies to see if the neural net would make some more medieval-sounding pies. It worked a little too well.
@mawr (And yep, we’re aware of the CSS hacks. They help, but they sear eyes whenever Slack updates.)
@mawr Like, so much else about Slack can be terrible (logging, highlights, wildcards that message the entire server, no dark theme: ROAR), but emoji reactions are absolutely one of the things we use to great effect at $JOB.

what game to play whingsting (long, whiny)
@troodon Also, if you want incredibly deep puzzling that can hit the hour or two mark per puzzle, literally anything by Zachtronics comes strongly recommended.
what game to play whingsting (long, whiny)
@troodon Three games I’ve been playing on rotation lately that I can recommend:
* Wandersong: episodic CYOA/platformer where the bard is the hero. It’s about as hilarious as the premise sounds.
* My Time at Portia: surprisingly deep variant of Harvest Moon/SV. Good challenge level and pacing for a planner/builder game.
* Deep Rock Galactic: co-op digging game with L4D mechanics. Has shootman aspects, more about efficient spatial planning.
Dragon. Agender, otherkin, occasional artist and writer, infosec engineer, in about that order. Avatar by Xeirla. Singular they/them preferred.
Also on @Goldkin (meow.social) for follow requests that don't work here.
