2018 (some ~ but mostly +)
Last year was the year I started to take back my life from my work. It’s still a struggle, but I just checked my hours and I’m down to 40 (from 60-80).
Last year was also the year I found myself questioning what makes a “community.” I realize I’d rather have family and friends I care deeply about than a giant circle of acquaintances that can’t be bothered to care for each other beyond surface levels.

It's been a while since I read a comic that made me tear up inside the store. If you want a book that is thoughtful, insightful, that addresses social issues of our world today in a way that inspires hope and change this is the @#$^ing book you should read.

Balance (Long)
Today’s therapy theme was finding balance (which is hilarious cause the rite’s theme from this weekend was the same). It got me thinking about some of the things I’ve left unsaid and observations about the postfurry community as a whole that I feel like I should share at this point.

Vacation
Today is the start of a several day vacation that I sorely need. It started with a rough interaction, followed by some mechanical difficulties, but we’re now on the road and headed out into the woods of Washington.

Today was a surreal day, but ultimately fairly good. I got what I needed to get done finished. I have an errand or two tomorrow before work, and I need to pack...but past that I am go for liftoff! 💜

My day started off with an off-hand comment that hit me like a truck. I have spent the better part of the day angry with the person in question.
But it’s not really the comment that I have issue with. Not even the person.
I’m tired and exhausted, just like everyone else. It takes energy to find compassion for your fellow beings. Exhaustion makes that harder. That said, compassion for each other is how we are all going to get through this. Together.
I really want a tasty pastry.

@fineursine sorry for being salty, I've just seen this devaluation of creative output spread outside video games to art - I've literally seen people argue that if they can get a whole game for 3 dollars and games have a lot of art, why pay more than that for anything? I get that these people are bad faith idiots but it's frustrating.
