it's the way of the future because YOU KEEP TELLING US IT IS AND PUSHING IT ON US AND PUSHING IT AND PUSHING IT rather than because it's actually a helpful, sustainable technology, FUCK YOU

@blubfeesh I'll take it if you don't get anyone else within a day or so?

hey, autistic folks;

would any of you have an opinion about acesaba.com/ ? They're my afternoon phone screen, but I want to check whether they're actually helping the kids.

Right now stuff I've run into about ABA makes me VERY wary. I've worked for The Bad Guys before (I actively liked working on U2 stuff), and I need the money, but.

A big thing to come out of my childhood was "I am not safe or comfortable" closely intertwined with "I am bad and inferior." The reality is I'm in some ways amazing and others broken and failed, and no more or less worthy than anyone else, since we're *all similar*, and the discomfort and threat of this world is pretty random. But my buttons get pressed, at some times a lot harder than others, and there's still a not small chance this will take me out.

I am now realizing that the heroic fantasy embodied in the art of Larry Elmore is amazing, luxurious hair.

Okay so it's probably more "being in your late 20s/early 30s forever" but still.

"an evening with Dr. Zahi Hawass, the man who made more money from Tutankhamen than Howard Carter ever did"

apparently listened to the Labyrinth soundtrack enough to recognize right before the BEST part of the movie

@joabaldwin joke's on you, I draw merfolk dolphin-style with horizontal flukes and a li'l vent anyway

stuffing an entire t-shirt into my boxer shorts to add authenticity to singing along with "Dance Magic Dance"

slap that baby, make him pee!

@chimerror Thanks. I was north enough that hitting the Edmonds Ezell's was entirely do-able, and Safeway was on the way back so I theoretically was responsible by buying potato salad and a Coke there.

@Yotenotes That's because archaeology reveals that the most fantastic cultures and places were right here.

Tell me I don’t need to spend money on either a lengua burrito from El Rinconsito, or chicken livers from Ezell’s.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, a batch of feel like shit buttons being pressed have resulted in feeling like shit.

@ziphi these days I hover around the idea that there’s something going on and deities as thought entities are parts of the overall something, a little like how you can define a region as a single forest or watershed where very intimate connections aren’t necessarily visible, and who you think are the big important trees aren’t necessarily the biggest part of the forest.

@electrickeet @CoyoteTraveller Seriously, people have been dumping random crap in the Thames for literally nearly 2000 years, enough that the first/only mudlark I've ever run into, on Twitter, was able to write a whole BOOK about stuff he'd found. Like these folks will wander out at low tide and poke around and they'll get stuff like 17th century clay pipes, Roman glass perfume flasks, and Victorian coins, all in the same day.

now singing along to Amon Amarth's "Beserker at Stamford Bridge"

I don't know the lyrics so I'm just going "WRHHRAAAAAAGH" and occasionally adding "OTVAR ZA RUSS, FENRIS HJOELDA!" That works right.

Not only is "everyone likes me" not really feasible, but whatever combination of things means everyone (not just me) is the villain in someone else's narrative, as certain a thing as traffic jams, insurance expenses and stomach upset.
