corollary; we're surrounded by and live in a place run by people who are not in fact all that and a bag of chips, but who have been told that or treated that way so frequently they sincerely believe they're fantastic omnicompetent people who deserve better than what's already pretty good.

logically, the opposite is true, where a not especially terrible person can be completely wrecked through indoctrination.

mh, journaling - - -

now starting to see it better;

trying to grow up with undiagnosed ADHD and trauma means feeling terrible when I don't understand, get bored with dumb shit important to the rest of the world, or am irritable. This opens me up to

being scolded or emotionally abused, especially if there's just seemingly no break, especially because that's a lot more constant if I don't really have any sense of a long term, which becomes

sincerely believing at some big underlying level that I'm bad or flawed. And if I'm constantly braced for *some* sort of emotional attack, such that I don't have resources to step back or challenge my idea, if I'm triggered fairly often (still no good sense of a long term), and have that as an underlying assumption

of course I'm going to go through life thinking I'm flawed, a fuck up, and that I'm waiting for the next something terrible to happen.

also, a short video about tank treads mentioned the FLANGE on "Little Willie." somehow that reminded me this exists

@erin_kitsune *promptly attempts to sing this to Daft Punk's "Bigger Faster Stronger."

of a batch of African antelope/bovid/caprid heads after Kingdon.

I mean... I can see why rebels didn't pilot stolen TIEs without going into doctrinal differences. Standard TIEs have no hyperdrive; you follow a TIE, you find a carrier or a base. You can't follow an X-wing that jumps to hyperspace and the Alliance can't risk their bases being flushed out easily.

Saturday, trying to figure out some figural/portrait stuff riffing off 40k.

Unfortunately I have been so conditioned that my first thought in response to this beautiful steel string Hawaiian music is SECONDS LATER

emailed all Congresswomen about how read-only access to Treasury resources is not an acceptable compromise even if Musk and his people haven't installed backdoors, DOGE needs to be kept out entirely (and if possible dismantled/blocked from bothering REAL federal employees). Not that this will work.

hot take: any instrumental Zappa track is indistinguishable from a Yes track except it's about half the length and a tenth as intellectually pretentious

then I had a coyote idea, and as a result I'm only just *now* shoveling fried zucchini into my fried zucchini uptake manifold but I also have baked breaded pork chops for later

rant re marginalized histories

Reminded that minority experience is first and foremost about invisibility. You have a history and much of that is beatdowns from the hegemony (occasionally other minorities, or your own).

But Jews sprang into existence, like Athena from the forehead of Zeus, as people who well accepted in Europe around 1930 or so; trans women have only existed in the last two decades somehow; and there's a mysterious blank spot presumably full of Black people from 1864 to about 1950. A mere few minutes of reading uncovers a world of pain.

But then, not only would some people rather you not know, not only are feelings of resentful backlash pretty basically human, but look at the people at the top of this sick society; do these look like folks interested in much other than making money? Even their purported interest in GREAT WESTERN CIVILIZATION like the Roman empire is probably shallower than an average sophomore Civ major.

admittedly I spent the whole week thinking about the weekend, not stuck in one place, maybe eat out, draw. And now not only is there the usual gravity to do not much here, but I *also* spent the whole week thinking about actually having a snow day and not having to throw myself out into the cold.

makin' the microwave burritos extra celebratory by slathering them with kochujang and (vegan, safe) sour cream

@Kusimanse okay SO check this out

according to Wikipedia the only times it's ever caused problems that there are multiple tiger mascots were 1) Korea having a tiger Olympics mascot, which was too much for Kelloggs and 2) Exxon selling food in their convenience stores which went over the boundary
