@Yotenotes That's because archaeology reveals that the most fantastic cultures and places were right here.

Tell me I don’t need to spend money on either a lengua burrito from El Rinconsito, or chicken livers from Ezell’s.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, a batch of feel like shit buttons being pressed have resulted in feeling like shit.

@ziphi these days I hover around the idea that there’s something going on and deities as thought entities are parts of the overall something, a little like how you can define a region as a single forest or watershed where very intimate connections aren’t necessarily visible, and who you think are the big important trees aren’t necessarily the biggest part of the forest.

@electrickeet @CoyoteTraveller Seriously, people have been dumping random crap in the Thames for literally nearly 2000 years, enough that the first/only mudlark I've ever run into, on Twitter, was able to write a whole BOOK about stuff he'd found. Like these folks will wander out at low tide and poke around and they'll get stuff like 17th century clay pipes, Roman glass perfume flasks, and Victorian coins, all in the same day.

now singing along to Amon Amarth's "Beserker at Stamford Bridge"

I don't know the lyrics so I'm just going "WRHHRAAAAAAGH" and occasionally adding "OTVAR ZA RUSS, FENRIS HJOELDA!" That works right.

Not only is "everyone likes me" not really feasible, but whatever combination of things means everyone (not just me) is the villain in someone else's narrative, as certain a thing as traffic jams, insurance expenses and stomach upset.

okay, I think the grease from the bacon is what set off this amount of acid reflux, otherwise it doesn't make much sense.

one problem is, the chance of getting anywhere art wise goes away faster than my rate of improvement as an artist. At this rate, in a few years I'll make stuff that'd make Iain McCaig weep, and my chances of going pro with it should be exactly nil.

there's just something so completely offputting about the idea of Doctor Who being a Disney thing

I am being a bad friend and skipping out on my friend's carefully prepped Cinco de Mayo playlist to listen to Clan of Xymox instead.

@anthracite I mean they're both inherently funny songs, and about the same tempo...

Harry Nilsson "Coconut"/NIN "Closer" mashup

A little late for Star Wars Day, but here's a colored - I don't do much Star Wars art at all!

similarly, before covid, cooking at home was More Tasks to Do (to save money as I am supposed to) so I was never really stoked about it. DURING covid I realized 50% of why I'd eat out was to leave my apartments (no longer possible), 30% to hang out with other people, only 20% for the actual food. Cooking became making something, and as soon as it became interesting rather than mandated I REALLY got into it - these days I get snacks and coffee out but largely cook everything I eat.

basically I've been kitbashing adulthood for years now. This included the early realization that I'd eat at home if I got stuff I wanted to eat, but possible ADHD plus living on my own means I'm great at spotting stuff I'm interested in - then having extra I'm desperate to get out of the 'fridge.

trying to use up this sliced turkey I got on sale, I fried up some of the bacon I got on sale, and put that together with some of the bread and green lettuce I'm trying to get out of my fridge

"Dude. You told me to stay off the freeway. You said it was like, too big and gnarly."
"Then let us hope" *chk* "I was totally wrong about how non-non-heinous it was."
