HOT TAKE: Trek Tha Old Skool never really had a compelling world so much as a loose framework for relating short stories, a TV show equivalent to Argosy or whatevs. Its primary appeal is that it was "pretty okay" when there just weren't alternatives.

HOTTER TAKE: despite this, TOS' actors especially managed to make it compelling enough for people to want something further out of it, which imho is incredible.

if I spend time reviewing a workbook about psych stuff I come away with a better understanding of myself. If I spend time drawing I come away with art and maybe a better understanding of how to make it. If I spend time looking for work, I come away feeling bad and, if I'm lucky, with an interview for something I'm not interested in, but I gotta make rent.

So it's pretty difficult to make myself look for work.

when I was a kid, Tom Stimus' used car dealership in Forsythe had ads on TV. These featured Tom pounding on the hoods of cars in his lot while sweating and screaming about what great deals he had. I always wondered if you bought one of the used cars, whether they all had huge dents in the hood.

I think accents are *fascinating*, because they're an insight into a speaker's first language - basically an indication of "how do you teach English in *this* language, and still have it make any sense?"

F'rex if a waitress asks me "you like sharimp?" that means "do you like" makes no sense in Cantonese (ok, "DO you like" sounds weird once I get past always having heard that) and that the combination SH+ other consonant doesn't exist, that there's always a vowel as a spacer.

In around 4 hours I was able to loosely pencil 6 comic pages I had layouts for from 2016 (I moved slowly), then tighten up 3 of them a bit. I figure another pass on the remaining pages and really tightening stuff is at least another 4 hours. Anyway I actually did something new!

me: spends nearly the entire day thinking about everything other than sex, considers self somewhere vaguely ace, draws non-sexual content most of the time and occasionally pinup stuff rather than outright whatever.

also me: in the right place and time online I am as completely headspacey as an entire fuckin' kennel of submissive petplayers, I am like a one-neutrois Folsom Street Fair, I need to cum like the last time was two weeks ago rather than last night.
