#drawings today, started waiting at the peroshki place, did a little more waiting for a burrito, did even more and finished at Starbucks. An adventuring party faces an ambush, a paladin with a "lion shield" braces to receive the undead charge, and a dhampir faces a fire giant monarch!
They came to a clearing in which there was a great statue of a seated Burger King of Gondor. Foul orcish graffiti scrawled upon the base and where the statue’s head had been instead was a crudely carven “Jack ball” with its prominent nose and hat. “Look!” said Frodo. “The king had a new crown!” And it was true, for upon the old head cast to the side, there were a great many discarded ketchup packets.
Is it just me or do other art types easily bounce between "gah my drawings SUCK! other people would draw better if I ever saw anything other than their drop-dead gorgeous finished paintings" and "wow this stuff I did years and years ago is actually pretty cool?" This is an 11 year old pen and marker drawing and I really like it.
Something I have been thinking about today;
I’ve been raised with a lot of urgency. Not just the immediacy of facing bullies and blame, but the gifted kid you can crack this NOW. And of course some jobs try to make everything urgent. That’s some of what gets pushed with social media (and other places). It is okay for me not to act or read everything because BEING OVERWHELMED is the threat, not what happens if I don’t read/react.
Dreams last night had weird details I don't know if I'd gotten before;
* feeling/hearing coins or tokens clink when being given a few to play video games
* as part of a long rambling dream about buildings falling apart, I stood up and felt the air much colder above waist level (building's windows were broken)
* fishing in my pocket for my mask while rushing uphill to catch an articulated bus. I think this is the first time I've dreamed about masks or buses.
NO SOONER did I make that joke than KEXP plays “Crucify,” and I have to sing along. I listened to Little Earthquakes a lot in 1999-2000.
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
