okay I've decided today's "painting stuff I don't want to work on music" are "soundtracks for kinda dumb stuff I liked" in general, so it's branched out from Dune to ST ToS soundtracks, Ladyhawke and Excalibur.

oh gah Peets has been REALLY GROOVING on not especially good 80s lately (occasionally they play 80s I actually like). "Africa" just came on. So I guess my music for painting this stuff I don't want to work on is gonna be the Dune soundtrack. #TheBeginningIsAVeryDifficultTime

I am in such a weird little mood right now. Sleep deprivation is part of it certainly. Also; there is such a thing as too much fatty food with way too much hot oil.

and, on a more personal level, I'm just now realizing "a group of people who can do whatever the hell they want because they, of course, are Good and Right and the reason they're Good and Right is that someone who likes them says they are," is very much the society I grew up in.

a government agency without any review process, which can freely destroy any records it wants to, is merely a nepotistic gang of good ol' boys who can do anything, and by all rights should not be considered a government agency.

This is completely a separate thing that pisses me off from anything these guys are doing or specious reasons for why they're doing it, but that part really pisses me off.

Today I’ve been sad off and on. The big things I accomplished were; I went to a forest I dearly love, and I read stuff I bought at last weekend’s game shop flea market. It’s weird having quiet solitary fun as my to-do list but it feels vital.
