Just described the movie I wanna see this weekend as “Big Lizards Rawr Part V.”

Here’s a weird art thing, drawing thru McBride paintings; he usually gives busy backgrounds with lots of hues, desaturated and lighter to break out a focus area. But most paintings in “Armies of Ivan the Terrible” his backgrounds are really simple and desaturated.

I think either the deadline was really brutal OR this is how he breaks out having really detailed, really saturated Russian costumes clearly!

Brief stop for ghetto dim sum as breakfast. The salt and pepper fish actually packs a substantial punch, which is a nice surprise!

Okay I’m making myself go south as a “need to do more with being out of work than just drawing and online.” Mood’s iffy. Hope to work on; hands, analyzing McBride, analyzing Guarnido comic pages, with watching art tutorial videos to break this up while moving.

Currently noticing that I need a batch of daydreaming/walking/online to go with all the productive stuff, and while I'm employed there's not quite enough time being useless, and when I'm unemployed I can't tell how much being useless is actually what I need, how much is maybe playing catchup from work, and how much is me running on inertia.

There are similarities between what I really liked about the game store as a kid, what I like about browsing actual physical bookstores, furry cons, and what I like about the internet (what kicked off all this thinking was someone's toot about how a targeted marketing focused web is nowhere near as much fun).

These are; a chance of random discoveries and feelings that a greater community with similar likes and thought patterns exists, even when I'm not participating.

I'm already sick of my taxes going to putting OTHER people in camps and I dread the day my taxes get used to put ME in a camp, because I know damn well when it happens the 75% of the country left of 45 won't be able to do anything because we're TRYING TO FUCKING SURVIVE, and of course right wingers will have perfect excuses for why it was a great move.

Hell of a time to try learning how to be a better artist, or figure out personal issues or anything else related to being human.

Look, we could riot in the streets, which would harm lots of us and might not do anything. We could do what we're doing now, legally permitted action and trying to just LIVE, and it'd up our temporary physical and emotional survival but have long term costs.

Because part of being abused by a narcissist is, anything that happens proves the narcissist right and justifies doing whatever it wanted to do anyway. ANYTHING.

Somewhat chaotic analysis of Angus McBride paintings. He’ll always define a focus but that can be;
* a big circle of elements
* an object or character interaction framed by that circle
* a character (in one case the focus was a horse, not the rider!)
* a piece of equipment

He’ll use costume, equipment, pose and cast shadows to block out big shapes, and he’ll change colors slightly to build seemingly big elaborate backgrounds which are less saturated and much lighter or darker than foreground.

apparently, painting two things and doing a fuckton of dishes was all I really had energy for today, and now it's just doing completely nothing for a while and having really weird lurid fantasies.

Really bad insomnia tonight, which I figure goes along with all the emotional ups and downs yesterday, including legit flashbacks (I can explain if need be), that wasn't fun at all.

So I'll try to roll with it; I'll stay local rather than trying to stay awake on the roads, paint for practice, watch painting videos, try this idea I've had for studying, nap as needed. Production can wait a little.

There are so many things I want that really aren't practicable.
