Thinking about ranting about why Empire really is the best SW movie reminds me of how I alternate between sincerely saying and believing these really encouraging, forgiving, anarchist hippie dippy things... and somehow lapsing right back into believing wholeheartedly in all the terrible, spiritually crushing, restrictive worldview I learned as a kid.

then I did the phone interview despite service cutting out and revamped and resent my resume AGAIN and I was really angry a while there and feel really terrible, and oh hey, there's some gender dysphoria too. I wish I were a pretty girl instead of looking like me.

Then I talked to a prospective employer, talked to an agency person and revamped my resume slightly for their use, and set up a phone interview for 30 minutes from now and after that I am NOT DOING anything responsible today damnit.

Something which bugs me is that my sexual interests are bland enough I can get into pretty conventional porn, but my upbringing loaded up sex with a lot of competition and gender stereotyping, and I can run into that with more conventional stuff.

I was daydreaming about another direction I could've gone. What if a young me had fallen hard for China's people, culture and language (distinctly possible)? What if they'd taken Mandarin instead of Russian? The big place they'd likely have wound up is the State Department and, if so, they did a lot of The Right Things, yet their life kinda sucks right now.
