the Culture: yeah, we have a division for that, but we also have a division who just infiltrates less-advanced civilization groups and keeps them from destroying themselves if need be. we meddle in pretty much everything.

the Culture: We really really really don't like war, and not just because we'll wipe you out if we fight you, because our technology is actually just that good.

the Culture: AI actually pretty much run most things, and it's cool. Some of them are a bit insane, and most of them are completely out of our understanding, but it's cool. We have a good thing going.

Notably, during that initial dance, I was feeling very much Lai at the time. And I remembered something: even when Lai was in Downwarp, his lab was behind a nightclub.

Why wouldn't this new Lai, now Neptunian, want to be a DJ and run a club?

So I was Lai as well during the Bandaza dance. And that's why this club is a pleasant merge between Downwarp and Neptunian aesthetics.

Some weeks back I went dancing with some lovely cuties. Towards the end of it I made some personal realizations, and had a wonderful vision of a very different sort of dance club than the one I was at.

A week later, I was DJing a dance set myself, in my garage--a space decorated in the aesthetics of that club I saw.

So I've realized that club in thought, in orthocosm, and now in words. Here it is:

Huh. I just realized that with a minor change in lyrics to the Cake song "Short Skirt Long Jacket"--replace "I want a girl" with "I'll be a girl"--the song is basically about @irisjaycomics.

I did a thing, last week, that I've been wanting to do for multiple years, and having failed to do it already a few years back.

That is: to turn my garage into a dance party (rave, let's just call it a rave), and DJ an entire set for people to dance to.

It took some science-ing of an industrial heater, and some cheap xmas lights. And cleaning the garage out enough (though thanks to @literorrery and @adeptomega for much of that work).

And now I can share the result:
