gonna get shit for this
@noelle hee! another good one to watch for artistic development is "White Noise," which also has trans characters and *fantastic* worldbuilding, and fantastic characters in general. :) (I read a few webcomics yes)
gonna get shit for this
@noelle as a contrast, the development of Jeph Jaques' artistic ability during the "Questionable Content" run is *amazing*, you can really see his skill increase while retaining and refining his personal style. and he's constantly challenging and pushing himself to try new things.
Self Doubt, Gaslighting, Memory [3/3]
Memory/Dissociation
@mawr @starkatt *looks up* ... oh. huh. uh... yeah.
I know I've had a depressive disorder my entire life; there wasn't anything particularly traumatic about my childhood, but it's possible that I developed dissociative habits in attempting to cope with the depression. now that my depression is mostly in remission, I don't have as many episodes of it as I used to...
@kara_dreamer Amadala is every 70's dude's complaints about their girlfriends. She wears too much makeup. She thinks she runs the planet. And she makes me like her too much. SHE'S RUINING MY LIFE ALL I WANT TO DO IS RACE MY HOT ROD. George Lucas is a little too easy to read here.
Self Doubt, Gaslighting, Memory [3/3]
@kara_dreamer@witches.town @mawr it's not the only one, either. the best one left a scar; I still have it, it was quite deep, and I have *no idea* how or when I got it, other than a scene that I know is definitely a dream. yeah, I have trouble trusting my memories... :/
@literorrery oooh yes. and then teach me to do it because yesssssss. :D
@Oneironott @literorrery and oh yeah, I remember that scene from the original cartoon being--keenly *interesting* to me for reasons I wasn't able to articulate at the time. :D squeezy snakes and spider webs, eheheheheehh...
@literorrery mmmmmhmmmmm. *krrrrrrssssssss*
Self Doubt, Gaslighting, Memory [3/3]
@kara_dreamer@witches.town @mawr for me, it's--I have a vivid memory of riding a cable car up to the "Christ the Redeemer" statue in Rio when I was a child, of walking around the base of the statue. relatives confirm I have never been to Brazil. that's just one of them, heh.
