@kara@occult.camp hahahahahah omg yaaaay (I only got the first book, you'll have to let me know if later books are worth it, but this is looking pretty tempting)

YAY SUDDEN EMBARRASSING PUBLIC CHOKING/COUGHING FIT :|

@guerrillarain@witches.town I hate the *idea* of sticking things in my eyes, and I wore fake glasses for years before I finally got a prescription for real ones. (true story, lol)

Unusual lycanthropes

@tcql @vahnj wereintheworldiscarmensandiego

ugh. I love books that drop the reader into situations with minimal exposition, and don't bother explaining unusual items/systems/techniques, just show them working... but I'm using an unusual item/system that is fully fleshed out in *my* mind, and I'm wondering if I should drop an exposition-bomb to explain it at some point, or just let it fly as is. grrmph.

@kara_dreamer@witches.town @kara@occult.camp I would not mind at all! if you do, post it to this account a couple of times, or cross-post to both, in case people (like me) with active timelines miss the first announcement. ;)

medical question

@guerrillarain@witches.town I thiiiiink a specialist, but I think it depends on whether they do other general care stuff *also*.

I should probably upload a picture of my actual face to the meetup account. or maybe a picture of my laptop back, with all the stickers, might be more easily and quickly recognized... >____>

@Silviu ooh, pretty! y'all posting about is making me want to play again. XD

ugh, I'm the first person here for the writer's group thing, and I don't know who to look for as people begin trickling into the coffee shop. AWK-WAAARD. I'll just sit here and write until I see somebody I recognize... or... something. *hunches down in seat, sips mocha*

bad grammar on an advertisement

@Kistaro *cacklesnort*

dream

@kara@occult.camp the dream-memory of the destruction of the city was *extremely* graphic. people in skyscrapers while they were being knocked down, people in the streets trying to flee... there was a village on the rock/hill the kaiju grabbed, they thought they'd be safe from the attack on the city. all that was left afterwards was a big crater. I have dreamed this before, this is the first time it was a coherent-ish story. yeah... it's pretty grim. :|

and now I'm off to a writer's group meetup seeya later

dream

meanwhile, the city was being thoroughly trashed, and we were getting constant minor earthquakes from the romping around. as a finale, the big rock/hill to one side of the pass was ripped up and thrown back into the city, before stomping back into the Pacific. a helicopter pilot was watching the kaiju, but he was too close; we tried to signal him to go lower, but the kaiju spotted him and smashed him out of the sky with a well-aimed car.

dream

I was able to convince one friend (who maybe also dream-remembered this), and we drove to the far side of the valley and found a place where we could get a good view (through binoculars) of the event.

the kaiju arrived on time and set about destroying the city. there was a riot at the pass from people trying to flee last-minute, and we watched cars wreck trying to speed down the narrow switchback road on the valley side.

dream

a bunch of other people had come over there to evacuate as well, and there were refugee services set up, but they didn't hold many people; a few hours after we came over the pass from the city was closed. we tried to settle in, find a place to sleep and looked for jobs (because dream). I made a few friends.

the next day, the kaiju attacked the city. I dream-remembered that the refugee area wasn't entirely safe, but couldn't convince my family/housemates to go any farther.

dream

I lived in a big city on the west coast that doesn't correspond to any city that actually exists. the person I dreamed I was "remembered" from a previous dream that the kaiju that was currently destroying Japan would head across the Pacific and hit our city next, and I remembered enough about how the attack happened that I was able to convince my housemates/family to evacuate early, to a safe-ish location basically in the next valley over, protected by a hill-line.
