found 2 #female #kittens right next to the motorway that i walk past. hiding in an area which has a tiny bit of trees.
nobody helped, but i did. took them home, gave some food & even took to the vets to check if they are chipped, theyre not. theyve been dumped
looking to get them rehoused. i cant keep them. i travel & would be unfair to them.
theyre both friendly & would love if someone could adopt them. ive contacted services regarding them.

today in wildlife rehab volunteering
* gave a great blue heron a watering pool & half-filled it with water (would have filled it completely but I think the pool had a hole in it. also herons are freaky-looking birds. and VERY LARGE.)
* fed baby squirrels
* DID NOT PEEK at a rhinoceros auklet (despite being very very tempted)
* decorated a large enclosure for a large iguana (he's evidently domesticated, they haven't found his owner or an adopter but he may become a zoo ambassador?)

he's a pretty little thing, seems a Pomeranian/terrier mix, gold and white, with perky ears and a curly tail. looks rather like a miniature golden husky.
the office people will take care of him until they can track down the owner or animal control picks him up, and in case of the latter I know he'll go to PAWS, which is a no-kill shelter, so I know he'll be well taken care of regardless. I hope he goes home, or finds a new, better one soon.
lost dog
well ok then. I just "rescued" a small dog that was wandering around the apartment complex. dunno where he lives; he doesn't seem to belong to anyone in the complex, but he's got a harness and collar, is in good health, is quite well-behaved, and wasn't particularly hungry or thirsty, so I suspect he escaped very recently. I can't keep him in my apartment, he immediately went after the cats and they both puffed up 5x regular size, so he's down at the rental office for the duration.

The rain is lovely but this means we get less sun. Make sure you find other ways to get vitamin D, they help me a lot compared to when I don't have it!
If you also suffer from SAD consider getting a treatment lamp. There are some reasonably priced ones on Amazon all the time. I went big and have had mine for almost 10 years so if you can save up for a real good one it will probably pay off for ya!

I am so damn tired. I refuse to nap; I'm staying awake so I'll actually sleep tonight hopefully, which will allow me to get up HECKIN EARLY tomorrow for volunteering, which ugh but yay but ugh
