@starkatt Historically, that would be Mercury, symbol of magic and communication. Manifestation of water (emotion) in the sacred metals and one of the Gea Arxia (Three Primes) along with Sulfur and Salt. Symbol of transformation.
That said, I'm at least making a concerted push towards Gold, fire metal, manifestation of will. It's historically been a weak point, but you dress for the job you want, not the job you have, so....

Cinnabar -- salt of mercury sulfide -- is hard to buy, toxic in powdered form, and expensive. It's the right tool and if I had all the spare time in the world and capitalism were a solved problem it'd be worth considering. I have to balance the practical with the effective.
I still want some. I just probably can't afford to use it in absolutely everything, for a variety of reasons.

@weirdoslam Interesting distinction! I still call it a fandom -- hence my question -- but the lack of a central media list does weird the space compared to other defined fandoms. It often feels to me as though furry shares more in common with religious spaces than media fandom, but I fully accept that may be more because of my own value system and beliefs than because of anything inherent in furry. Within the potential of furry, maybe, but not obligatory to participation.
@weirdoslam So, how does that apply to, say, furry fandom? What media constitutes the central shared consumption?

@body@mastodon.social A woman whose voice I don't know but whose identity as "Mistress" seized me in the middle of a deep trance, corrected my performance, reminded me of the value of scheduling, and proceeded to spend the day instructing me on my paracosm's cosmology, cosmogony, and natural philosophy. I'm apparently late for my second-form dissertation. I got an extension today.
I doubt you have too much to worry about.
