@adeptomega @makyo Fair enough.

Hey, Makyo, mind if I make a scaled-down copy of the cover art for my bookstore? I'm trying to keep a link library of everywhere I'm published, and I don't want to just copy the art without permission or attribution, but it's a wee bit big to fit in my layout. =n.n=

(( Link here for comparison: orrery.prismaticmedia.com/gift ))

@adeptomega @makyo Don't forget we'll end up with at least one contributor copy in the house.... :)

smol late capitalism vent: mortgages

@mawr This is one of the biggest insults. "We're going to make you pay extra for the privilege of not having to pay so much up front." About the only reason I was happy for our home valuation to go up was that it made refinancing away the MPI reasonable.

Smash capitalism.

@DialMforMara You're in Seattle? Have you been to Phoenix Comics yet? =n.n=

I did a thing, last week, that I've been wanting to do for multiple years, and having failed to do it already a few years back.

That is: to turn my garage into a dance party (rave, let's just call it a rave), and DJ an entire set for people to dance to.

It took some science-ing of an industrial heater, and some cheap xmas lights. And cleaning the garage out enough (though thanks to @literorrery and @adeptomega for much of that work).

And now I can share the result:

Character design question

@KawaSeadrake Definitely binder. =n.n=

@KoBunny @emanate @adeptomega There is ample opportunity, and I would love to share that experience with you.

Ment of "gender-reveal parties" but not in the way you'd expect and an overall positive post

Found this gem in my Facebook history:
"I vote we repurpose the term gender reveal party to be a party where a trans or nonbinary person has just come out publicly so their friends have a party with them to celebrate, and depending on case-by-case maybe give them gifts like new wardrobe stuff if they're changing how they present cause aint nobody got money for a whole new look at once." ~ @Keltoi

hot take

@tiden Usually when I see it in any reasonable context, it's called a web of trust.

Work

Some days, I love Java and the way it strongly recommends some kinds of abstraction and loose coupling of tightly defined objects.

Other days, I look at objects with names like AbstractConfigurationFactoryFactoryInterface and I want to cry.

@ElectricKeet Aggggh. Yes, it would. Damnit, good catch. Thank you. That one will have to go for now while I ponder further refinements.

Is there an instance in the fediverse focused on fitness, health, and personal/physical development? Asking for personal reasons.

@mawr Mmf. And I definitely want to see Quality Mawr Content(tm). I just don't want to give them any more traffic. =x.x=

@KoBunny If it works right, it filters out any toot that contains a link to those two sites; most people don't use those terms in casual speech, so I think I'm not blocking discussions around them, but this should keep me from accidentally adding traffic that goes there.

Day one of a curious experiment:

Put "t.co|twitter.com|facebook.com|fbcdn.com" in the timeline filter. See how many posts I lose that way and whether I notice.

First day back to work after being off for a week of Bandaza prep and then the holiday and all the goodfeels and...

...

... yeah, sure, I can care about your restart thingy Java REST Dynamo state integration!
