@adeptomega All those poor children, hooked on phonics. Won't somebody please think of the children?
The Ongoing Saga (medical)
She asked me if I wanted to file an appeal regardless. I started crying on the call and told her I wanted her to fix her damned company and stop compounding the suffering of people under biased and unfair definitions of medical necessity, and that I wanted her to stop calling me to tell me what she and Anthem can't or won't do.
She told me she'd email me and said future communications should probably be through text, as our phone calls "always end unproductively."
The Ongoing Saga (medical)
Got a call from my Anthem caseworker. Secondary appeal on the extension will expire in a week and she wanted to know I was going to file one since she hadn't heard from me in a while. I told her I had no idea what was going on because of the nonsense with Advance Medical detailed in recent complaints.
State of the Garden :D
@adeptomega Eeeeeee! :V
Come flying with me.
@Aradia@mastodon.social @mawr If they could embrace transit as a public good and collected a token quarter on all routes, or even a quarter a zone, then jacked the rates on car tabs to cover the cost of public transit and launched Tim Eyman into Jupiter, we wouldn't have to eliminate parking because people would be financially incentivized to seek alternatives to cars. Because we can't do that, we have to play games with other aspects of policy to drive the same resuls.
@Aradia@mastodon.social @mawr No, but by cutting parking, the hope is to convince more people that public transit is a better option, and the increased rider demand will force a reversal in that trend.
Capitalism weirds this particular policy decision because its incentives look backward. They're trying to increase transit ridership by limiting the options for drivers. Because people expect public transit to be profitable, rather than run as a public good, they have to limit alternatives to make it viable.
Oh, sure, Youtube. Let's just go right into Hafsol, and then maybe Untitled 3. I'm open. Come on in.
@Oneironott I can get you my therapist's contact info -- he does sliding scale work -- or I can ask Keet to refer you to theirs. Both of them should understand species stuff to at least some degree.

Starts a bit weird, but changes at around a minute in.

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz There is no tool which works indefinitely; the rolling meta of politics decrees that Status Q will coopt any successful strategy to defend itself. Successful movements recognize when a tool has outlived its utility and adapt. Unsuccessful ones become tools of Status Q.
@KoBunny Someone else who selected for inclusion in CLAW #1 contacted me and mentioned my engagement with their early work was inspiring and they were really pleased to be in the same anthology with me. I think that's one of the most touching things I've ever heard. ;v:
