@fluffy@queer.party I ended up quitting that one after not terribly long. Not my scene.

@samathy@mastodon.technology Perhaps not a bug, but a feature request: give me back my tab groups so I can background stuff mid-project (out of sight, out of mind) without having to close a bunch of open tabs and lose all the active context I have going on in them.

Tumblr, Politics, Tumblr Politics

@green @Jssra @zebratron2084 I'm right there with you. I'm no stranger to actively inflaming conflict for the sake of trying to "prove" "my" "point." I really didn't start getting well until I was in my thirties.

Tumblr, Politics, Tumblr Politics

@Jssra @zebratron2084 @green Compound that with the neoliberal guilt complex ("I know any choice to have a slightly nicer life in the world comes at the expense of people who're worse off then me") and late-stage capitalism's Red Queen's Race to stay one step ahead of Mammon and Moloch ("I don't have to outrun them; I just have to outrun the next victim"), is it any wonder that the impulse among leftists is to turn on each other as the system collapses?

@green @zebratron2084 @Jssra I've always believed that Tumblr's inability to allow users to directly engage with each other or their readers promoted toxic forms of callout culture and performative wokeness. Even under the best of circumstances, the platform prevents people from telling others that they're doing harmful things, so people who're being hurt either have to disengage to avoid harm or start whisper campaigns to try to stop the harm. That can't help but create toxicity on the platform.

Serving no purpose other than to delight us does not disqualify a thing or experience from a list of priorities.

furry writing; insecurity

@Sparf I sympathize. It can be totally frustrating to have to keep up with so many different systems.

furry writing; insecurity

@Sparf I'm not exactly comfortable there either, honestly. It's unfortunate, but true. For a couple of reasons. I've become extremely disillusioned with Slack as a technology, especially for social communities.

@Sparf If you do one in the spring, I'll totally participate. November is my planning month for Bandaza; I'm not getting anything done then planning a fifty-person potluck.

@Ratttz Honestly, depends on the genre and whether you do lyrics. These days most of my music consumption comes either while I'm coding or while I'm high, both of which are less successful when there's an excessive amount of other people's words in my head.

That said, I would totally find a way to buy merch or other support systems within the community in support of creative success.

i've thought about giving my lit zine it's own masto account, but for now, i'll just do the occasional toot on its behalf.

@troubleMoney I bet if somebody built a kobold-breeding game on top of Bitcoin we could crash it in an afternoon.

@mawr I said as I was leaving Beta this morning, "You'll be too warm at the office if you wear both thermal socks and tights!"
