The Terra-ists were winning.
Wave after wave of their clumsy, improvised starships burned across the galaxy, spreading fear and chaos in the name of their backward, blue-green planet.
They bled viral DNA bases from ancient nightmares, and breathed burning, corrosive _oxygen_.
Their society was brutal: financialised industrial capitalism.
There was only one answer. The free races of the galaxy were forced to combine to save themselves.

things I dreamed (these are all pretty vaguely remembered):
* being a giant dragon, tearing apart a planet for materials to either make myself power armor or possibly a giant new robot body, and throwing chunks of the planet at its moon (because it'd be easier to assemble them there)
* a candy shop that had a lollipop for $19, but smaller "lollipops" of chocolate-covered gummy bears in a big bundle for $5
* wolf brothers, one of whom is a "werewolf," the other is a vampire (I kinda like this)
Venting about Late Capitalism
I am so sick of the status quo.
I have friend who works long night shifts at a food processing facility. What they'd call "A workin' man's job" back in the 50's. The kind of job that ensured you a salary that could buy a house and provide enough to care for a partner and a child. You wouldn't be well off, but you'd be doing alright.
Today, they're stuck living with a parent, 'cause money's too tight to leave.
They're not even in a major city.
Fuck capitalism.
