Rant about GUI-based computing.
@ElectricKeet We have a TV currently with rectangular pixels. We've given up and we'll let its internal scaler mangle things until we can replace it.
so hey careful when picking post privacy on mobile mastodon because guess what it's fucked up again:
if you try tapping the the text box too quick right after picking from the new pop up modal, YOU'LL ACTUALLY TAP ON THE MODAL WHICH HASN'T FINISHED FADING YET
this causes post privacy to go back instead the one that you already pick (the lock shows, then goes back to globe if you tap again too quick)
so uh if you're on mobile
be fucking careful

loneliness, metaphysical journeys
We only know how to not be lonely at all because we've become lost in worlds where we didn't feel alone. This reality always turned out to be the dominant one, but they've given us a starting point. Those places were more connected, where thoughts flowed like words. This brought deeper understandings and a desire for diverse experiences. No one wanted to be trapped in a sea of echoes when there where so many other possibilities.
@aesmael Everyone forgets the good or bad parts when it's convenient.
@neonNeptunian can we still be friends even if we can't consume vinegar?
Work
@literorrery To-do lists are nice and all, but it doesn't make anything happen by itself.
weird pre-bed thoughts
I think the reason I'm still stuck waist-deep in Furry Bullshit is because it's the closest thing to what I actually want: a stable culture that understands the editing, proliferating and fracturing of identity as normal due course. I'm tired of having to act like my own tiny fortress in an endless field of tiny fortresses! I want to pull my architecture apart into gooey 5D cubist shit and show it off from all angles! I want to know emotions they haven't given names to yet.
Henlo frens!
I made an AntiFa Illustrator template that you can use to make your own AntiFa logo for your local region! It's all in vector so it scales beautifully. Great for stickers! Please feel free to use and share!
In happy news, upgrading the Mac mini's RAM from 2GB to 8GB has made it very usable. We should probably put an SSD in it eventually too.
computer trials and tribulations
Trying to rearrange scattered files and redundant copies so we have two pairs of drives with data instead of the current mess.
Two days in we're at a corrupted file system on one USB drive, a different drive with a USB controller that falls asleep if it stops being used, one fully functional drive of the latter type, and an Xserve that has been a faithful, dutiful companion through all of this. If only drives for it were cheaper and it weren't so loud.
@Oneironott it's good to make the self more physical, more connected :)
