Ment of "gender-reveal parties" but not in the way you'd expect and an overall positive post
Found this gem in my Facebook history:
"I vote we repurpose the term gender reveal party to be a party where a trans or nonbinary person has just come out publicly so their friends have a party with them to celebrate, and depending on case-by-case maybe give them gifts like new wardrobe stuff if they're changing how they present cause aint nobody got money for a whole new look at once." ~ @Keltoi
plurality (complicated)
Let’s repeat that one word again. Intentionality. Simply being ourselves doesn’t take effort, but allowing ourselves to relax and put aside the default expressions? Believing in more than survival, so we can feel that it’s okay to exist as ourselves in this world? That does take effort. Such things need time and space, small rituals performed and a body momentarily consecrated.
plurality (negative)
How much of our undifferentiated mass of blendy moonlits at front since stopping school has been due to a lack of recurring instances to apply any intentionality in the realm of our outward appearance? We don’t know who we are because there is less reason for waveforms to collapse.
What this has left us with for most of the year, though, is a vague directionless sense of existence. We’re just floating, barely being, not really living, trapped in prefab circumstance.
Real fucking cyberpunk isn't an overpaid security guard with more toys than a personal best buy. THIS is.

lesson for next time: discuss plans ahead of time, communicate expectations and needs better
No one needs to starve. No one needs to freeze. No one needs to die. There is enough for everyone. More empty homes than all the people without them, more food than grocers can even sell. The labor and the materials to end scarcity exist now. It is not a far-off dream. We can end scarcity in this life.

Reality: welcome to Mastodon, here's your six alt fursonas, a copy of the Anarchist's Cookbook, an eight-week course on the programming language of your choice, a tarot deck, some brand spanking new hormones, and a complex geometric sigil you should memorize that will turn into a neural counter-virus so that when the Singularity finally hits we can make sure The Straights don't claim it for themselves
