Something I don't think a lot of people realize unless they lived through the XMPP incineration: Google didn't just one day turn the federating stuff off. They broke it, and left it broke for months.
For a large swathe of time, if you were a gtalk user, you saw your externally hosted buddies online, but messages were dropped; same the other way around. Google didn't announce when they did this, they just pushed a nebulous "One day soon we'll turn this off" EOL announcement.
It stayed this way until they sunset Talk entirely for Hangouts. It was deliberately, invisibly broken.
@slabbityslab I mean idk if it's his fault but the adafruit 12V cable is sold out. not sure about those drop-in replacement PSUs

Ich kann ja verstehen, dass der Finanzminister keine Ahnung von KI hat, aber es ist schon ein Bisschen traurig, dass er nicht weiß, dass die Steuererklärung seit Jahren digitalisiert ist, Elster in etwa das tut, was er da beschreibt, und Belege gar nicht eingereicht werden müssen, solange das Finanzamt sie nicht anfordert.

I already have a PSX PicoPSU so I'll look into getting at least one of those barrel jack cables, also I'd love a N64 drop-in replacement, the way the PSU attaches just lends itself to that kind of fuckery

@emmy Yeah, over here I think they're going to discontinue 3G first so older phone keep working (or can fall back on that), I think that's very sensible

@emmy hm, 5G NSA actually uses an LTE carrier (5G just to improve throughput) but if you're saying LTE didn't get you enough coverage I guess it was actually SA?
@emmy wait you actually need 5G standalone?
I'd say get a Pixel, but I'm not sure if they have SA everywhere, I'm pretty sure my 4a 5G can't with my current provider (Vodafone.de)
