@coilysiren well, and energy/hardware requirements, and you lose the speed if you have to check it all by hand and it looks seemingly correct
@coilysiren so now they're worse compilers? isn't that just a solution in search of a problem
@kamiten from the one time I was in London (using the Tube a lot though) it seemed fine, imo the goal isn't maximum throughput, it's letting people who are in a rush go faster
@pup_hime I have adhd and I used to commute 2.5h each way once a week before the Switch was a thing. Skill issue.
@pup_hime just watch a movie like a normal person
@cccac I'm reporting you for animal cruelty
@pup_hime I mean the whole engine runs mostly on hopes and dreams and duct tape so
@NoraReed clearly Mastodon needs invite codes
@mcc yeah not even playing 50 Hz video in like, VLC on a VRR display on a computer works that well
@mcc I assume most TVs can switch between 50 and 60 Hz just so it's easier to sell it in different regions. There are also variable refresh rate TVs now so you can theoretically play stuff at its native framerate. idk how good support is, it's meant for gaming
@mcc framerates are just a suggestion, did you know that PAL and NTSC DVDs have slightly different runtimes because they slightly time-stretch the movie to fit 24 frames into PAL's 25
@kamiten it really depends on the region, in Germany there's plenty of escalators and no one does this
