@pandora_parrot I think a regular USB keyboard and one of those pretty decent Android eInk tablets can probably do the same thing but be less locked down (you can always uninstall the browser etc if it distracts you)

yay, my computer has started hard crashing every time in the new FFXIV minigame… I've had it in a couple of other games as well but I've been playing XIV fine for months and that very minigame earlier today

@SirTapTap@mastodon.social no, but it's way easier to handle updates if you don't have to go through the app store and the initial "install our app!" boundary will be lower

@artemis tbh I stopped playing the game because I got to a combat-heavy section that was a bit too hard to just push through and I realized I wasn't having fun with it… the webswinging though? all day every day

@porsupah hm, it shouldn't hit any firewalls or anything considering it's probably just using a standard http api and no peer-to-peer

@Siph iirc the names are from Roman tradition but like, they literally swapped political positions at some point

@Mareepy also there's a demo of the Switch version if you wanna check it out, it has some QOL features like auto-walking which you may or may not like

@Mareepy I think they're mechanically the same but blue has the map on the bottom screen instead of overlaying it, I'm guessing that's way nicer
