@mcc afaik the flash doesn't need to be cooled, just the chip that drives it
@mcc @gsuberland yeah it kinda works like that, though if you actually start working in swap you'll want to stop using your computer, it's mostly for offloading data that's not currently being used a lot, also suspend to disk
you can always use a swapfile instead of a partition too
@unascribed once in my life I've been concerned about how efficient a terminal emulator is, and that was on an underpowered arm computer with no graphics hardware
@skye you could probably use adb or sth like the logcat reader app to read the logs

dansup being a shitty pixelfed admin.
After trying a few things from their side, my old instance admin tried to get in touch with dansup. Again no reply.
I was very clear in my messages to dansup that the full profile with posts, media, profile pic, bio, etc. of my old deleted account showing up on pixelfed search was a matter of personal safety for me.
Turns out that's not really a priority for dansup.

*Reasons:
1. Racist shits throwing slurs at me, calling me a reverse racist for posting about their empire's colonial bullshit, etc. (to be fair, my instance admin and mods were quick to take action every time).
2. My follower count getting way out of control for my liking; I think it hit 1400+ at one point, yikes.
3. Exposure to a lot more of the larger instances that were usually not well moderated. (2/2)

dansup being a shitty pixelfed admin.
A while back, I had an account on another instance where I would post personal stuff more openly than I do here, like a selfie as my profile pic, my cultural background, my nationality, etc.
Due to a bunch of reasons*, I eventually decided to delete that account and make a new one here, being more anonymous than before.
After my old account was deleted, I found that it was still showing up if searched for on pixelfed. So I emailed dansup multiple times, no reply. Sent multiple DMs, no reply.
Then I reached out to my old instance admin to explain the situation and they were very helpful in trying to figure out the technicalities of why this might have happened. The account was in fact marked deleted and not present on the old instance anymore, and that status should have propagated to other instances too. I checked from a bunch of other instances and only pixelfed had this issue. (1/2)
