@packbat I think moving to wider registers isn't really worth it, 64-bit numbers are fine for most tasks. I think GPUs have wider registers? but for general computing it'd probably just make everything need too much memory

I've launched a new open source project:

FreeMDU provides open hardware and software tools for communicating with Miele appliances via their optical diagnostic interface.
More details about the project will be presented at the 39th Chaos Communication Congress as part of the talk "Hacking washing machines".

@shivoa I use Heroic Launcher for GoG and Epic on my Steam Deck but I didn't need to sideload it because it's on the Discover Store (flathub)

@Larymir bloß weil etwas eine Floskel ist heißt es ja nicht dass man es nicht meint. Ich glaube Floskeln und Smalltalk sind oft Gerüst für soziale Interaktionen, als Einstiegspunkt

After a year of work and crazy amount of help from a bunch of cool peoples my vacuum chamber is finally "finished". Its almost fully assembled but I have no idea it its air tight. Lets see how many round trips back to the workshop it will take before its really done. (Blahaj for scale)
@ticky can't hear you about my CLACK CLACK CLACK
(though there are the split keyboard people. They seem pretty ergonomic to me)
