@onfy I guess with HDMI CEC a set top box can control the TV now but it feels like a waste to have all this android just sitting here
alternatively I'd also be okay with putting less shit chips in here and updating Android TV for longer
god I wish they built smart tvs with the compute on a separate board like they do with digital signage

@onfy I'd pop the SD card in a computer, mount it in a VM and install on it that way. A hassle but you can image the card afterwards and you'll have something to fall back to

@ashly should be totally fine on a charger with enough smarts to measure charging current. I remember there being chargers where you determined between nicd and nimh by plugging in the charger or inserting the batteries first
@cinnamon fwiw lora mesh would be pretty useless in an emergency bc the bandwith is very limited
big fan of air quality sensors, ikea has a new one that's pretty impressive but it's Matter over Thread only so it won't work with my setup
