@reay Google Assistant has been doing song recognition for ages (and Shazam has been bought by Apple), this is always on and displayed on the lock screen separately from notifications

@starkatt apparently they can't just go read a different webcomic, idk

@starkatt I mean yeah, but there's a lot of people who think the cool stuff is bad

@starkatt yeah but you can probably see why people don't like it

@starkatt oooh, there's a new one

go back two or three

@Felthry I bet they'll try duct tape first, or like, epoxy

@Felthry (and by "around" I mean I've literally constructed coils around electron microscopes to compensate ambient magnetic fields)

@Felthry well, I'm in the wrong field to use expensive lab equipement but I've worked around electron microscopes and those are definitely not getting replaced when a part fails

@Felthry haha, worth a try

luckily expensive lab equipment is one of the few things that people actually expect you to repair, I guess

@Felthry wait, you can't fix highly specialized electro-pneumatic laboratory equipment with duct tape? have you tried? 😉

(that's a feature on the newer Pixel phones)

okay, "your phone always knows which song is playing" is an amazing party trick, Google

watching the Martian because I don't wanna sleep yet, so far it's a really good adaptation of the book

@maloki @MochiWaifu it's a wild ride but it's pretty down-to-earth as far as QC is concerned

@sc read the last three comics and his latest Twitter post lol

lmao the shitty QC sub is basically self-destructing
