whenever I think about combustion motors for more than a second it's kinda wild that "just blow up petrol fast enough so it spins a thing" ever became a viable product

shork boosted

@whitequark aah it probably locks its framerate to the display's which is not 60 on my desktop

@roxy you can probably just drop a more complete emoji font into ~/.local/share/fonts/ and uhhh do some fontconfig magic to make it have priority?

@whitequark is grand dad supposed to run in fast forward unless I unfocus the tab?

@ticky as someone who doesn't have one you should be last in queue

@mxdragon with this one that even works, my pico 4 needs light lol

@Siph my Steam Controller 1 is named Handheld Gaming Device (because I didn't have enough characters to put "Aperture Science")

@mxdragon I also want the clear Steam Frame but I understand that it would be unusable due to stray light so I'd be okay with them only sending me the clear controller

alternatively I'm hoping the Deck's shell industry means I'll be able to get third-party shells for it

oo they made a translucent steam controller 2, as the steam controller 1s biggest fan I think Valve should send me one

@konomikitten afaik that's rubber impregnated with carbon, which would be terrible insulation. But since the screen measures capacitance, not current, I don't think you actually need to touch the conductor

@konomikitten I would strongly suspect it's the metal, not the plastic

@konomikitten great way to check if it's properly grounded

re: lewd joke

@la also the flared base is for work safety. so it doesn't slip out of the clamp. I don't know what you're talking about
