@variance remember, they can only see you if you move
I did a piece of fanart based on my fav piece of fiction, The Last Angel by Proximal Flame!
It depicts Red One firing her displacement engine weapon, destroying a compact of species chariot!
@pastelbat did the entire sound and music and it's fricking fantastic!!
I had a great time working with them on this and they did a great job!!

re: subnautica base pictures
@masklayer ahhhgosh this is pretty, good work~ The glass tunnel through the trees is really cool
re: Lewd art tags ?
@Plugs I feel like #LewdArt is clearer?
My reasoning is it's inherently clear that whatever is being posted is on the fediverse, and #MastoLewd could mean a variety of non-art things, it is not as readily apparent that what the tag contains will be art content.
*effortlessly dodges 'what is art tho' in 2000s action movie slo-mo*
found a legit incredible blog about obscure electronic games. beautifully observed write-ups of tons of games i've never encountered, such as this 1988 game by an afro-caribbean woman about subvertng and overthrowing a slave plantation:
Freedom: Rebels in the Darkness

or a 2500+ level puzzle game that is almost literally impossible to complete:

just great

re: Thoughts on dog behaviour / critism of ‘pack alpha’ ideas
@Doggo oh, yeah. My understanding is that the whole "pack alpha" idea has been busted for decades.
The primary reason the idea perpetuates despite this is most likely because it normalizes bullying behaviour;
"Being an abusive jerk is good and natural" will never struggle to find a market, especially in management culture, startup/'entrepreneur' culture, etc.
@birbhorse @Doggoartz activating them requires a firm-ish pull on it (like a pull-cord lightswitch, I think?) so if you have the reach:
Holding the knotted part so that there's laxity in the cord leading up to the alarm, untie the knot between your hands. That shouldn't activate the alarm itself.
(If it's tied to a railing or something and there's not much laxity there, this does become more difficult)
An important thing!
If red emergency cords in disabled bathrooms are tangled or tied up, they can’t be reached by someone on the floor who’s fallen and needs help!
#Mastoart
@variance Oh, same!
For me, I think it's a focus regulation & fatigue thing.. But tidiness is not a forte just in general terms either. ^^;
re: musing, masculinity, videogames
@theoutrider @SilviaFox@sleeping.town The Soul Calibur/Witcher crossover would have been the perfect time for Geralt to show off his shapely cheeks in a 100%-fanservice alternate outfit.
This is a graffiti-free zone.
Vandals will be ~PASTELBAT~
