Katt's lighting opinions: 3,000K for living areas, 3,500K for kitchen and bathroom, 2,700K can fuck right off, and 5,000K only for the workshoppiest of workshops MAYBE.
The training dummy claimed I was doing 99% effective chest compressions on my first try, so that's nice.
And yeah even just one minute of that took a ton of energy.
I sense more classes in my future.
Unfortunately, those will likely be $$$
So I took a 4-hour CPR/AED/First Aid course and I'm like... uhh, is that it? Every response was like a sentence or two of information. I get the virtue of keeping things as simple as possible but I want to learn *way more*.

this leads me into wanting to blather how dinosaurs are one of the best parts of aging.
I first learned about dinosaurs long ago when they were massive green or dull brown reptiles, and that was AWESOME*.
Now, dinosaurs are a diverse clade with all sorts of little feathery Yixian Formation fauna as well as even more big ceratopsians and species which changed bone structure as they aged. Dinosaurs got EVEN AWESOMER.
How freakin' awesome are dinosaurs going to be by the time I'm actually old?

At this CPR/First Aid class the instructor went on a whole speech about how HIV isn't as transmittable as people think, but Hepatitis is way scarier than most people realize.

Anyway I really like the way the game (so far) treats fash as a sort of undifferentiated background radiation. Dangerous but not *interesting*.

For the game to decide to write it as "[slur]" does a couple of cool things. It makes it seem like the exact word chosen isn't really important, but is instead one just thrown out there with the vague sense that it applies to the target. Fash don't care whether their slurs are /accurate/.
It also echoes the real-world sense of bigots being kinda worthy of eyerolling? Dangerous, sure, but also fucking tired and uncreative and not anything we haven't already seen before
