@noiob one of my favorites are the brellas
they lend themselves really well to close quarters, and are just fun to use in general
@noiob even if you do, there are lots of other types of dualies too!
actually, a lot of the most solid weapons in the entire game are dualies
@noiob yeah! i actually like the idea a lot!
it means you don't need to trap yourself with a single loadout if you wanted to play around with other things
@noiob it's a per-weapon ranking that grows based on how well you've been doing with it
it's used in matchmaking to pair you with others at the same level
being per-weapon means that you can safely try out new weapons without having to face your usual level of competition right off the bat!
@noiob oh yeah! you can do some real nifty things with those
(also, i guess i should mention that i don't mean you should retreat from everything--but keep it in mind if you see unwinnable situations! sometimes those can reverse if you can survive!)
@noiob hee, that's fair!
i mentioned it because retreating is actually significantly easier than 1v1ing peeps, and it often ends up being really good for your overall games
@noiob one general non-obvious tip that can turn things around a lot is that surviving is much higher priority than accomplishing most goals
don't be afraid to retreat
if you go down, it becomes 4 against 3 until you can get back, and that can shift things pretty drastically
@noiob oh nooo
@noiob oof
i had this problem for a while, and i discovered that a LAN adapter basically solved it (this is the only one the switch supports: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Internet-Officially-Licensed-wii-u/dp/B01N6S068R)
my wifi is pretty reliable, but there was just something about it that would cause all kinds of online grief in splatoon

@noiob yays!
call for help from anyone who understands how the webpack stuff Masto uses works
@noiob ahh!
i was actually gonna say that i noticed that there are two common css files loaded on every page--one for glitch and one for vanilla, and i figured that the components scss file got compiled into one eventually
call for help from anyone who understands how the webpack stuff Masto uses works
@noiob hmm, looking at the (quite sparse) docs, maybe components.scss might do it?
from your top-level, that's app/javascript/styles/mastodon/components.scss
(i pulled that name from https://glitch-soc.github.io/docs/contributing/frontend/#file_folder-the-styles-folder, and looked for the file on your github repo)
@raccoon welp :mouth_over_face:
@raccoon om nom nom
@Yokai so basically, when the whole "hi! i really like this thing you did" turns into the only thing anyone knows about you, huh?
heck, that would be even less cool if the only reason someone wanted to talk to you was because they liked a thing you did once, and want to be acknowledged by the person who made it--no matter who that person might be
yeah, i can see how that would be dehumanizing--where you basically become a vessel for your work, and nothing more
oof, yeah, that sucks even more
@bombsfall@mastodon.social that's kind of a sad thought in a way
since i don't often see a lot of activity from things i put places, i like to imagine that i would always respond to everything--and that it would always be cool to have peeps talk to about things
but eventually it stops being all that fulfilling, huh? like if you ate your favorite food every single day--i imagine eventually it would feel like a chore
diminishing gains suck, yo~
@Hulex someone once linked me to a projared video, and for the next little while, my entire front page was basically *just* projared
Suicidal thoughts, mh --
@InTheLandOfTheRisingSun hee. no problem..!
it's so easy to judge ourselves like this, and sometimes our minds can be just outright cruel
i know i have some pretty wicked double-standards for myself too, and if they get to me, it's hard to see how unfair they are until i'm out of the mire
i wanted to post that to help you through your mire too! ^^
@knightly that's a good one too!
rain in general has such a cool ambiance, and this just adds to it!
oh hi! i do computers, and sometimes draw stuff~ i like lo-fi things and cute aesthetics!
i also probably like you
